Clicking for Understanding
Zander, a boy with autism paired with Dancer, was frustrated when Dancer wouldn’t come when he called her name.
The problem stemmed from Zander’s speech problems, which can make his words seem mumbled to human and canine ears alike.
The solution? The clicker! Now when Zander wants to call Dancer to let her know it’s time to go to bed, he clicks, she gets a treat, and into his bedroom they trot.
It’s a “simple tech” solution for a complex problem.
